Great pics. Please don't forget to mention the most modest of the mid-century modest, which is fibro, and I doubt that's a Namatjira on the wall, but keep them coming. Love the paint catalogues, always more outrageous than you would think.

Thank you so much for the chance to download this amazing 1940s plus-size sewing catalogue. The designs are beautiful and have given me lots of ideas about which style I'll be using for having the dresses made up at the local tailors.
All the best

Hi Wendy! I'm slowly going through all my vintage magazines and scanning everything of interest, as well as my vintage knitting and crochet patterns. I'll be putting some up in the next few days! I am happy to share the patterns I have with the knitting/crochet/vintage world for free, the more the merrier. :)

Absolutely lovely Twin set! Thank you for posting it. Can't wait to get some yarn to knit this up.

I have some vintage pattern books from the 30s, 40s, 50s & some 60s that I won & will be getting from eBay in the not to distant future. I can send you the list when I get them to see if there is a pattern you might be interested in. Would be more than happy to share any I have. Can't believe the lengths some bidders are willing to go to get some of these vintage knitting patterns. Several got out of my price range very quickly while I've picked up a few nice ones for under $6.00US.

Looks like I found another blog to read on a regular basis. I'll check my current stash of magazines to see if I have anything from the 50s and drop you a line, can't remember, off-hand what I do have. Thanks again.

Hi Lisa! I actually used to have an Andrew Thom harp, and it was brilliant. I only sold it because I am mostly concentrating on my pedal harp now and I wanted it to go to someone who would play it every day like harps should. :)

I had the pleasure of visiting Canberra, Australia 2 years ago. It actually still reminds me of these old magazines. The capital is so pristine and clean. We were there on a Sunday and it looked like we were in the middle of a Star Trek episode and all the people were zapped out of the city -- but yet it stood there clean, modern and untouched. I have to add that the Aussie people were great. Also -- they have a fabulous harp maker -- Andrew Thom Harps (in Tasmania -- yes like the devil). Uniquely designed harps with warm rich sounds. I have two of his harps and couldnt be happier with them.

Bobo, do you have any links to catalogues or such showing the lamp? I'd love to see any other designs associated with it!
